Sabinyo Silverback Lodge
Sabinyo Silverback Lodge is perfectly located just three kilometres from the Parc National des Volcans entrance where clients begin their exciting journey trekking the magnificent Mountain Gorillas. The lodge is in a breathtaking position with superb views across the towering Virunga volcanoes which straddle Rwanda, Uganda and the Congo. Silverback Lodge is a recent addition to the Governor’s Camp portfolio and is owned by a Rwandan Community Trust. Income generated by the lodge is used in local community development and conservation projects.
The main building has stunning views of the volcanoes and farms in the valley below which are often shrouded in mist in the early morning. There is a large deck outside where guests can enjoy a pre-dinner drink and inside there is a bar, roomy lounge and separate dining area.
The beautifully appointed guest cottages have been carefully laid out along the hillside, each with uninterrupted views of the breathtaking landscape. Each of the spacious cottages has a comfortable sitting room with a roaring log fire for the cooler evenings, super-comfy beds, private dressing room and large bathroom. Guest rooms are all attended by a discreet butler service.
Virunga Lodge
Virunga Lodge is has perhaps one of the most awesome locations in Africa. Perched high on a hillside, the lodge overlooks the sparkling lakes of Ruhondo and Bulera with the Virunga Mountains towering in the background.
The dining and bar are built on the apex of the hill with panoramic views which on a clear day are hard to beat. The individual cottages are dispersed around the hillside, each with its own unique viewpoint and polished wooden floors lead out on to private veranda’s where guests can soak up the tranquil setting.

Mount Gahinga Lodge
Mount Gahinga Lodge is an upmarket eco-lodge nestled in the foothills of the Virunga volcanoes on the border of Uganda, Rwanda and the DRC.
The lodge has recently been completely renovated, and a sunroom with fabulous views of the volcanoes has been added, along with a new terrace and lush gardens. The lodge has just six spacious bandas each of which is furnished with local materials and fabrics, creating a warm inviting rustic comfort.
The lodges staff are very friendly and the standards of service and food here are high, making it a very pleasant place to relax and take in one of Uganda’s most scenic regions.
Bwindi Lodge
Bwindi Lodge overlooks the Impenetrable Bwindi forest which is home to gorillas, monkeys, chimpanzees and birds. Tracking gorillas in this primeval like dense lush green forest is a completely magical experience. Add to gorilla tracking the opportunity to also view Bwindi’s 80 different mammals and spectacular bird community and Bwindi’s appeal is easy to understand.
Bwindi lodge is just an hour’s flight from Entebbe, a days drive from Kampala or a six hour drive from Kigali so has a variety of access options. The lodge itself is eco aware with just eight banda’s and a wonderful terrace on which guests can relax and immerse themselves in the surrounding forest listening to its exotic sounds that reverberate around and the screech from the chimpanzees in the river below.
