Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Travel to Mgahinga
Meet and Greet with our professional safari guide. He will brief you shortly, lunch and then go for a brief Kigali City Tour. Visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site, Local art and Craft shops, fruit markets among others. Have Lunch in Kigali and travel north to Uganda. Cross the border via Cyanika and continue to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Day 2: Batwa Trail
Transfer to the Mgahinga National Park headquarters. Go for the amazing Batwa Trail within the forest. The hike takes you through the past lifestyle of the Batwa Pygmies, former forest dwellers who used to live with the mountain gorillas in the Mgahinga National Park. The hike takes half a day and you should not leave your torch behind given that you are to go for the cave exploration within the park. After the Batwa Experience, return to the park headquarters. Have Lunch and then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge (Budget) / Rushaga Gorilla Camp (Midrange) / Chameleon Hill Lodge or Bwindi Nkuringo Camp (Overnight)
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Breakfast, with your packed lunch, bottled mineral water, tracking gears and so on, move for briefing done by game rangers with whom you will move through Bwindi impenetrable forest for gorilla tracking. This will approximately take 4 to 6hrs or a whole day depending on the movement of the gorilla groups. Stay with Gorillas for a maximum of one hour and take photos. Return to your lodge for relaxation as you wait for dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge (Budget) / Rushaga Gorilla Camp (Midrange) / Chameleon Hill Lodge or Bwindi Nkuringo Camp (Overnight)
Day 4: Return to Kigali
After breakfast, embark on a return trip to Kigali. Drop of the hotel or airport in the Afternoon.
