Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National park.
In the afternoon after lunch in Kigali, you will drive a scenic journey to Volcanoes National park in Ruhengeri, a home of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas. The park is situated in the Virunga mountain ranges and is a home of over 200 mountain gorillas with 7 gorilla families. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla view hotel (Luxury)/ La Palme Hotel (Mid range)/Muhabura guest house (Budget).
Day 2: Gorilla tracking and transfer to Kigali.
In the morning after breakfast, you will gather at the park headquarters by 8:30am for briefing before heading for the memorable gorilla tracking adventure in the forest. Tracking will take 2-7 hours, depending on the movement of the animals in their natural environment. Expect to get yourself dirty, as trekking goes through sloppy and muddy environment. A maximum of one hour will be allowed with the gorillas, where you will take photography and ask questions. Descend to the park headquarters, where you will meet your guide, and after lunch, drive back to Kigali, reaching in the evening.
